The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a
Registered Veterinary Nurse
to join a friendly, dedicated ophthalmology referral practice in
Sutton Weaver, Cheshire
. The successful candidate will be part of a large, supportive team of 8 RVNs and 2 Patient Care Assistants, working alongside experienced ophthalmologists and anaesthetists.
The role is focused solely on clinical work -- no reception duties -- allowing you to concentrate on delivering exceptional nursing care. You'll rotate through varied areas including prep, theatre, recovery, procedures, and consultations.
While prior ophthalmology experience is not required, experience in a referral setting and familiarity with advanced monitoring equipment (capnography, multiparameter monitors, ventilators) would be advantageous. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality patient care across all areas of the practice
Admit and discharge patients, administer perioperative medications
Assist with induction and monitoring of anaesthesia
Prepare patients for surgery, assist in theatre and during recovery
Clean, maintain, and care for surgical instruments
Support gold-standard clinical care and uphold patient safety standards
