We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse at Bryn and Golborne Veterinary Centre. You will be joining a thriving and dynamic practice based over two sites.

About the practice




Bryn and Golborne Veterinary Centre is a group of two practices; Bryn Veterinary Centre and Golborne Veterinary Centre. You will be based at our Bryn Vets in Ashton-in-Makerfield but will also work at our Golborne Vets in Golborne. Ashton-in-Makerfield is a town in the borough of Wigan and has many benefits including a station, motorway spur, a large town nearby and plenty of countryside walks.

We are a first opinion practice and have a varied and very busy caseload at both surgeries. We are a friendly, welcoming and supportive team of five vet surgeons, five full time nurses, two student nurses, four Client Care Advisors and a Practice Manager.

About the Role




Duties include:Admitting and discharging patients for routine operations. Keeping up to date with preventative healthcare, product knowledge and practice policies so clients can be advised accurately. Running nurse clinics. Ensuring correct disposal of clinical waste. Ensuring all SOP's are adhered to in all areas of work at all times. Ensuring effective stock control and rotation. Ensuring the highest standard of nursing care is delivered to all patients at all times. Maintaining accurate client and patient medical records at all times to include computer updates, hospital and anaesthetic forms. Being fully aware of all Health & Safety issues and read all information supplied. Being competent and adhering to practice protocols in the following tasks; monitoring anaesthetics, venepuncture, urine collection, skin scrapes, taking/processing radiographs, assist with ultrasound scanning, performing routine laboratory procedures, maintenance of tubes and drains, gowning & gloving to assist aseptically in theatre, under veterinary direction anesthetise and intubate, scale and polish teeth, administer enemas, calculate and administer medications.

Working Hours




This is a full-time role where you will work 36-40 hours per week depending on your preference, with your hours likely to be split over 4 days. Each nurse is also required to work 1 in 4 Saturdays, 9am-12 noon. There are no OOH requirements.
