We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals while supporting veterinarians in various clinical tasks. This position requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Monitor the health and behaviour of animals pre- and post-surgery.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Prepare laboratory samples for testing and assist with laboratory procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up to date.
Provide advice and support to pet owners regarding animal care and health issues.
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the veterinary practice, including equipment sterilisation.
Participate in client education initiatives to promote responsible pet ownership.
Skills
Strong knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures.
Experience in a laboratory setting is an advantage but not essential.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Compassionate approach towards animal care with a strong sense of empathy.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and staying updated on veterinary advancements.
