We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals and supporting our veterinary staff in delivering excellent service including running nurse clinics. This position requires a strong understanding of veterinary practices, as well as proficiency in laboratory procedures. Pay will be commensurate with experience. Hours will be over 2 days plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. No routine OOH. Pay is calculated hourly to ensure you are paid for every moment you work and includes lunchtime.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while maintaining accurate records.
Monitor animal patients pre- and post-operatively, observing vital signs and reporting any changes.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the clinic, including sterilisation of instruments and equipment.
Provide education to pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and health maintenance for their animals.
Run and manage nurse clinics
Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments.
Assist with the management of inventory, ensuring that medical supplies are adequately stocked.
Assist with administration and reception duties when required and during holiday cover

Requirements
Qualified Veterinary Nurse with RVN status.
Experience in a veterinary practice is preferred but not essential; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals and their welfare.
Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
