This post in paediatric oncology is suitable for trainees wishing to gain experience in paediatric oncology, for those wishing to pursue a career in Tertiary Paediatric Oncology, or as a stand-alone post providing training for generalists with a specialist interest (i.e. shared care oncology.



Competent in the initial management of the more common childhood cancers.



Competent in managing infection in the immunocompromised child.



Understand and be competent in the prescribing and administration of chemotherapy.



Become familiar with the more common treatment protocols used in treating childhood malignancy.



Develop improved communication skills especially in the area of breaking "bad news".
