Role Overview

Elida Beauty markets a wide portfolio of personal care products across global markets with a turnover of \xe2\x82\xac700M. The consumer safety of our products is our highest priority. Working with our world class third parties you will ensure all products have been evaluated to be safe for consumer use and that robust safety evaluation procedures are in place before our new products enter the market via our very active innovation programme. You will also be responsible to make sure that all of Elida Beauty\xe2\x80\x99s products are regulatory compliant in all markets where directly sold and that robust procedures are in place in other markets to ensure third party distributors are aware of their regulatory responsibilities. Compliance includes Product Information Files being maintained and made accessible for inspection, safety data sheets prepared and translated as needed, and REACH requirements for UK and EU satisfied.

Your engagement with our products extends beyond regulatory and safety to cover other business-critical aspects. Reporting into this role are the roles of Specification Developer, Microbiologist, Compliance Specialist and Regulatory Specialists.

Role Accountabilities

Act as a Business Partner to drive agile and rapid delivery of the business goals whilst ensuring product compliance, safety and integrity is always executed

Commission and oversee third party suppliers to ensure that all products have been assessed for consumer safety and regulatory compliance and to take accountability for the quality of the output.

Member of R&D leadership team to define future R&D capability requirements and external partnerships to meet the needs of the business

Be involved personally or via team in all stages of innovation projects to guide Marketing and product R&D colleagues on regulatory aspects of innovation projects.

To be first point of contact for handling technical aspects of any regulatory issues raised by customers, consumers or regulatory authorities (in collaboration with legal team)

Use links to professional, trade associations, NGOs, third parties and online resources to monitor and anticipate PR issues, consumer concerns and environmental impacts to be able take pre-emptive action to align our portfolio and claims to minimise business risk

Develop a deep understanding of the regulatory framework impacting the Elida Beauty product portfolio in the key markets of North America, UK/IRE, EU and ANZ with working knowledge in ROW covered by distributors.

Approve pack copy and advertising claims from a viewpoint of regulatory compliance

Track material volumes and compliance to REACH regulations

Ensure R&D PLM is correctly populated and up to date (via WL1 Specification Specialist)

Ensure agreed programme on microbiological quality of our products is delivered.

Ensure all R&D master data are available for downstream processes and to derive additional business value from the aggregated data, e.g., compliance checking, cost benchmarking, sustainability metrics.

Critical Competencies

Degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline

Track record of successful delivery in a regulatory role in personal care or fmcg; either through direct leadership or managing portfolio through 3P expertise

Proven people leadership skills with ability to manage specialists outside your own expertise base

Self-confident integrity in your role of the guardian of the safety and legality of our products and articulate in your ability to express your expertise, enabling you to defend and win your viewpoint even against more senior challenges.

Regards safety and regulatory frameworks to be areas where creative ideas can be generated rather than be a barrier to innovation. The successful candidate will have high ethics, imaginative, willing to take risks and passionate about delivering new products.

Comfortable with data handling and analysis and creative in ways of driving value from data created within team

Demonstrable experience of stake-holder management at the highest level; keeping business informed and guiding on choices and actions necessary to maintain compliance whilst delivering growth
