Buttershaw, Bradford / Hybrid Working ( 1-2 days in the office a week )

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of one of the UK's most essential services? Yorkshire Water is seeking a Regulatory Assurance Manager to lead the charge in delivering transparency, accountability, and confidence to our customers, stakeholders, and regulators.





As the Regulatory Assurance Manager, you'll be at the heart of our regulatory strategy--ensuring that our performance reporting is not only accurate but inspires trust. You'll lead the development and publication of our Assurance Plan, a cornerstone of our commitment to openness and integrity.

As our

Regulatory Assurance Manager

you will:




Develop, strengthen and implement a regulatory assurance strategy, which covers all regulatory reporting. Define and continually review and improve the robustness of the assurance strategy in place to ensure the Company is protected from financial risk and reputational risk. Develop and maintain an annual and a 5-year Risk Assessment and Assurance Map for all regulatory reporting. Provide advice and assurance to the business as an SME in regulatory reporting guidelines, performance commitments and price control deliverables. Promote the importance of assurance and reporting across the company, championing three levels of assurance and embedding Level 2 assurance. Consult and liaise with external customers and stakeholders to understand their views on our risks, strengths and weaknesses and to consult with them on assurance plans. Input into the Kelda Integrated Assurance Map and utilise the KIAM to understand regulatory reporting risks and assurance coverage across the company. Ensure that information published within regulatory publications (for example, the Annual Performance Report) is accurate and adequately demonstrates to Ofwat that we are meeting all of our requirements. Ensure Board Assurance Statements are obtained to support publications where they are required. Ensure assurance reviews are timely to provide early detection of potential issues. Manage the Technical Auditor contract (value of up to 5m) and other contracts for external independent assurance providers supporting regulatory submissions. Work closely with all Level 3 assurance providers and External Auditors throughout the year to deliver timely, high quality external reporting meeting all required regulatory and legal standards.



What skills & qualifications you will need:






Relevant qualifications in Compliance/Audit and have experience of developing and implementing assurance strategies. You will have had previous experience of defining and creating strategic audit plans, risk assessment, analysis and monitoring. You will be able to scan the horizon and spot strategic business risks, create and implement appropriate response plans and escalate the risks as required. Previous experience of managing and leading a team. You will have the highest standards of integrity and ethics with the ability to challenge inappropriate behaviours. A strategic thinker you will be comfortable establishing clear strategic direction and implementing plans to deliver. Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management. You will have strong influencing & negotiation skills and be able to influence key stakeholders on a national scale. You will also have excellent proofreading, editing skills with a strong attention to detail.
