Regulatory Lawyer
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Lawyer to join the legal department of a London airport. The role requires expertise in regulatory matters and a strong understanding of legal frameworks to support business operations in Hounslow
Provide professional legal expertise to the business in respect of both Operations and Regulation, including competition law. The role is broad and therefore the role holder will be expected to be able to advise on a wide number of areas of law.
In addition to Operational and Regulatory matters the role also covers legal advice in respect of: commercial contracts, procurement, litigation/disputes, judicial review, aviation law, environmental law and security law issues. There must be a willingness to learn if those areas are unfamiliar.
Other areas of law that the role holder will be likely to cover includes some criminal areas (trespass, assault, criminal damage, byelaw enforcement), employment and defamation.
- The role holder will ensure that advice is provided with a view to promoting compliance with contractual, legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring the business is fully legally compliant. The role holder will model behaviours appropriate with their responsibilities at all times.
The role holder must be able to work independently and be able to successfully balance competing demands. The role will include, but is not limited to, the following:

Negotiating, reviewing and drafting contracts, policies and any other arrangements relating to operational activities at the Airport

Negotiating, reviewing and drafting contracts, policies, regulatory documents and any other arrangements relating to regulated activities at the Airport

Advising on competition law and regulatory risks and mitigations arising from the business's proposals

Assist on investigations and prosecutions by regulatory authorities

Providing targeted and timely compliance training to the business in relation to all relevant legal obligations

- Produce easy to use guidance for the business to facilitate ongoing compliance with all relevant legal obligations
Six figures and and a 12 month FTC
