Role Overview:
As a Second Line Regulatory / Risk Reporting Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing independent oversight of regulatory and risk reporting across the organisation. This includes reviewing, challenging, and enhancing the quality and accuracy of reports submitted to regulators and senior management.
You will work closely with First Line teams to ensure that reporting processes are robust, compliant with regulatory expectations, and aligned with internal risk frameworks. The role also involves horizon scanning for regulatory developments and supporting the business in understanding and responding to emerging reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversight & AssuranceProvide independent review and challenge of regulatory and risk reports produced by First Line teams
Assess the effectiveness of controls over data entry and quality, aggregation, and reporting processes
Monitor adherence to regulatory reporting standards and internal risk policies
Regulatory EngagementSupport the collation and review of information for regulatory submissions and requests
Maintain awareness of regulatory developments and assess their impact on reporting obligations
Liaise with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations
Risk ReportingReview and challenge risk MI and dashboards to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance
Support the development of risk appetite metrics and thresholds in collaboration with Risk SMEs in relation to Data
Contribute to the enhancement of risk reporting frameworks and methodologies
Data Governance & ControlsEvaluate data lineage and control frameworks supporting regulatory and risk reporting
Identify and escalate data quality issues and control weaknesses
Recommend improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness
Stakeholder CollaborationWork with First Line, Compliance, and Internal Audit to ensure consistent understanding of reporting requirements.
Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on regulatory and risk reporting standards
Change and Continuous ImprovementOwn and maintain the regulatory change tracker, ensuring it is consistently updated with relevant developments. Work closely with business stakeholders to assess the impact of upcoming regulatory changes and support effective prioritisation based on business needs and regulatory timelines.
Contribute to the development of reporting tools, templates, and automation initiative
Support internal projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the risk and control environment
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Understanding of relevant regulations and regulatory frameworks (Essential)
Experience using reporting tools and systems like Power Bi, SQL and Excel (Essential)
Proven track record in preparing and submitting regulatory return (Essential)
Attention to detail in data validation and reporting to avoid compliance breaches
Ability to interpret complex data sets and regulatory requirements to produce accurate reports
Proactive approach to identifying and resolving reporting discrepancies or process inefficiencies
Strong interpersonal skills to work across multiple teams
Experience working in a fast paced environment and meeting deadlines
Experience supporting internal and external audits, including responding to queries and implementing recommendations
