bubbly, resilient, patient, outgoing, active, academically and clinically experienced
rehabilitation/ therapy assistant.
An understanding of
traumatic brain injury and/or severe emotional and behavioural dysregulation
is
empirical
to this role. You must be able to
evidence
multi-skills in behavioural role modelling, an understanding of risk and exploitation, experience in various practices in (cognitive) neurorehabilitation and an in-depth understanding and experience of handling clients with complex brain injuries, ADHD and conduct disorders.
You will be part of a behavioural specialist MDT supporting the clients under disciplines or neuro and clinical psychology, systemic integrative treatment therapy and occupational therapy.

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking dedicated Rehabilitation Assistants to join our esteemed team. Rehabilitation Assistants in this position will work with children and young adults who have sustained traumatic brain injuries and present complex rehabilitative support needs. These injuries may lead to challenging behaviours, including changes in personality, mood disorders, executive dysfunctions, cognitive impairments and emotional dysregulation. Our team is committed to implementing individualised rehabilitation plans that encourage client autonomy through a biopsychosocial approach.

Key Responsibilities:
o Collaborative Care: Participate as a key member of a multidisciplinary therapy team to develop and implement specialised care and support plans.
o Autonomous Work: Independently manage your caseload and provide one-on-one support to clients, helping them achieve their rehabilitation goals and enhance their independence through improving physical health and mental well-being.
o Reporting: Produce comprehensive session reports detailing client functionalities, impairments, progress, and any obstacles encountered. These reports will be shared with various professionals and organisations, including the Court of Protection, case managers, and treating clinicians.
o Coaching: Guide clients by modelling positive behaviours and serving as behavioural mentors, influencing complex functions, social engagement, and supporting clients through litigation proceedings.
o Support: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), administrative tasks, domestic duties, maintaining hobbies, attending medical appointments, and fostering social engagement.
o Rehabilitation and Therapy Implementation: Work with a multidisciplinary team of treating therapists to plan, organise, and implement complex rehabilitation and therapy plans into clients' daily living, supporting them in achieving goal-directed behaviours.
o Training: Engage in continuous mandatory training, including adult and child safeguarding procedures, neuro and psychoeducation, and Neuspec's operating procedures and software training, ensuring clinical excellence, confidentiality and professional conduct are maintained at all times.

Experience:
A Clinical understanding of the brain and behaviour.

Requirements:
A
minimum of 3 years
of clinical experience.
A valid driving license and car.
An enhanced DBS.
Desirable:
PMVA training or related experience/ qualifications in managing physical aggression.

Immediate starters are preferred. Applicants who are available to begin case work within 2-3 weeks are strongly encouraged to apply.
Business car insurance is required; however, any premium increase will be reimbursed by Neuspec after the successful completion of the probationary period.
Additional paid hours include travel time, clinical report writing, support planning admin, attending MDT meetings, clinical supervision, and client communication. These are all billable. Any expenses incurred on the job will be invoiced for.
