Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive and dedicated Rehabilitation Assistant / PA to work with a young man in his late teens with a Spinal Cord Injury.

The role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of the client undergoing rehabilitation.

Our client has recently sustained a spinal injury and is a wheelchair user. He requires a Rehabilitation Assistant /PA to assist him with a full physical rehabilitation program. This will entail going to formal physiotherapy sessions to be taught how to assist with home therapies, hydrotherapy and gym work.

In addition, our client requires companionship to assist him in accessing the community and to have a meaningful schedule most days. The successful candidate must be able to drive the client's car when taking him to local areas

The role would ideally suit someone who has a background in physical health, sports rehabilitation, personal training etc.

We require someone who can work 16-20 hours a week.

Requirements

Have experience of effectively working with an individual in a caring and supportive environment Have some experience in health and fitness Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing The candidate must have a full clean driving licence Must be under 30 years old to be able to build a good working relationship and provide companionship
The post is temporary initially with a six month contract.

Rate of pay

18.00 per hour.

This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate (DBS).

We will also seek 2 references.
