To provide support to children, young people and their families in order to improve their mental health and well-being, build levels of personal resilience and help expand coping strategies.

Key Responsibilities:



To be an active member of the east to west team, including volunteers and trustees, working within its ethos and guidelines and participate fully in one to one, peer and group supervision To recognise and support the local church in its engagement with east to west and in the project as appropriate To uphold and fully engage with the organisational mission and ethos of The east to west Trust as written in the Core Documents To attend and actively engage with Team Together Days To be deliberate in your engagement with the Development Process, including Supervision and Personal growth To actively identify and undertake ongoing personal training and development as appropriate To embody east to west in all situations, in person and online, socially and in public, inside and outside of a project

About the job (Project focused)



Core Purpose:



Using highly relational interpersonal skills, the Team Member will work with young people facing a wide range of issues and support them in growing resilience, developing coping strategies and improving their mental health & wellbeing.
This role in Marnel Junior School offers the opportunity to spend time actively helping young people and their parents in a number of different settings.

Key Responsibilities:



To provide Relational Support to young people in both 1:1 and support group settings, within agreed caseload limits To effectively support and work within the Pastoral and Behavioural system within Marnel Junior School, liaising with staff, sharing appropriate information, and supporting processes that benefit the young person To encourage and, where appropriate, facilitate the work of external organisations working in the project, liaising effectively with all key relationships To actively participate in assemblies and issue focused large events as needed To look to source volunteering opportunities within the project To effectively manage the Relational Support Work of volunteers placed in your project To provide statistical information to east to west on a daily/weekly basis in accordance with measures in force at the time To regularly update on progress and deliver reports to east to west and the project To promote citizenship and community through extra-curricular activities

Ideally you will have the following skills (or be able to demonstrate transferrable skills in these areas):



experience of working with young people both 1:1 and in groups experience of liaising with school staff and working on school sites experience of working with young people with multiple and / or complex needs experience of working in depth with young people to improve mental health and emotional well-being Knowledge of emotional and mental health issues which affect young people experience of working with other partners and agencies in developing and facilitating partnership working

Occupational Requirement



GOR (General Occupational Requirements) :



It is required for the purposes of this role that the team member is in sympathy with the Christian Ethos of the east to west trust and is comfortable working in a Christian Environment

Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 17,091.00 per year

Expected hours: 24.5 per week
