Job Description

At Thalia, we are looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our team at Allerton Waste Recovery Park. You'll be at the forefront of transforming how we maintain and manage critical assets, supporting Thalia's mission to drive sustainability through innovation in waste and energy. This role will report to the Account Director and sit on the senior management team.

Location: Allerton Waste Recovery Park, Moor Lane, Knaresborough, HG5 0SD Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm

The Role

Investigating recurring failures and preventing breakdowns using proven reliability tools (RCM, FMEA, RCA). Collaborating across teams to improve preventative maintenance and condition monitoring. Supporting engineering compliance and delivering asset lifecycle improvements. Contributing technical insight to capital projects and investment cases. You'll work closely with operational, maintenance and engineering teams - both on-site and across the Thalia group - to make our assets work better, for longer.

The Person

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered or working towards chartered status (IMechE, IET or similar). Strong experience in reliability or maintenance engineering within asset-heavy sectors like waste, energy, manufacturing or utilities. Hands-on use of CMMS and engineering analytics to drive smarter decisions. A proactive, collaborative mindset with the confidence to influence across disciplines.

Similarly we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
