Our Asset Integrity team is seeking a

Reliability Engineer - Mechanical

to play a key role in ensuring the continued performance and dependability of our equipment and systems. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for optimising asset reliability, improving equipment uptime, and enhancing operational efficiency through robust preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.


You will lead equipment upgrades and modifications, provide expert technical support for complex troubleshooting, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation. You will also develop and implement asset lifecycle strategies aimed at minimising downtime, extending equipment life, and supporting long-term operational performance.


This is an excellent opportunity for a reliability-focused engineering professional to make a significant impact within a high-performing Asset Integrity function.

What you'll do:



Safety & Compliance



Report accidents, near misses, non-conformances, and safety hazards promptly. Deliver Toolbox Talks and act as SME during incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis. Participate in safety meetings, drills, and Emergency Preparedness activities. Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and contractor RAMS.

Quality Assurance



Work with suppliers to verify standards, equipment suitability, and attend FATs/SATs. Conduct site visits and ensure adherence to project and delivery schedules. Review and validate contractor documentation, including RAMS and certifications. Monitor industry developments to recommend upgrades or replacements.

Reliability Engineering



Provide SME guidance to Operations and Projects across company-operated assets. Conduct compliance and quality audits and review high-priority equipment issues. Perform on-site assessments and define remediation, repair, or upgrade plans. Support critical spare parts planning and obsolescence management.

Maintenance & Asset Lifecycle Management



Develop and implement maintenance strategies within the CMMS (Sertica) for Projects and Operations. Drive continuous improvement and ensure accurate maintenance reporting. Support planning and execution of major overhauls, inspections, and upgrades. Act as technical escalation point and provide advanced troubleshooting support.

Technical Leadership



Contribute to new-build projects, equipment selection, and RAM/maintainability reviews. Maintain and review technical documentation, drawings, scopes, and test plans. Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues, coordinate repairs, and source equipment. Lead upgrade/modification work packages and collaborate with Engineering and Operations.

Planning & Coordination



Support planning of project upgrades, mobilisations, and overhaul activities. Lead contractor selection, onboarding, and performance management. Develop scopes of work and oversee contractor deliverables during shutdowns. Apply lessons learned to future maintenance and mobilisation cycles.

Training & Mentoring



Identify training needs and support competency development within the team. Provide mentorship to less-experienced personnel. Maintain ongoing professional development and industry knowledge. Perform additional duties within the scope of the role and expertise.

Who We're Looking For




Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience as a Reliability Engineer or similar role in a heavy engineering setting, preferably in offshore operations. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diesel engines, hydraulics and other relevant equipment used in geotechnical drilling. NFPCC Level 2 (or equivalent). Certifications in relevant areas.
