Job Description

As a Cook, you will help create a welcoming home by preparing nutritious and enjoyable food that brings people together. Mealtimes are an important part of daily life here and your cooking will help residents feel valued and looked after.

What Your Day Could Involve



Planning and preparing varied, balanced and appetising menus Cooking meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents Keeping stock records and managing ordering and budgeting for the kitchen Making sure the kitchen meets all health and hygiene regulations Encouraging residents to get involved in food choices and kitchen activities where possible

About You




You enjoy cooking for others and take pride in serving good food. You have a caring approach and understand how food contributes to wellbeing and comfort. It is helpful if you have previous catering experience, along with a City and Guilds qualification or equivalent, although we also welcome people who can demonstrate the right skills and passion. Basic IT skills are useful, and you will be someone who respects all aspects of Christian worship.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
