Job Description

As a Relief Cook with CrossReach, you will prepare and serve tasty, home style meals that bring comfort and enjoyment to older people. You will help maintain a warm, welcoming atmosphere where food supports both wellbeing and connection.

What Your Day Could Involve

Planning varied, nutritious menus with the Unit Manager Preparing meals, snacks and home baking using fresh ingredients Catering for individual dietary requirements and personal preferences Keeping high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety Supporting special occasions and seasonal events with thoughtful catering Encouraging service user involvement in food preparation where appropriate

About You

You enjoy creating food that helps people feel cared for. You are organised, creative and pay close attention to detail. You have previous catering experience, hold an Elementary Food Handling Certificate or are willing to work towards one, and understand Health and Safety legislation. You also have basic computer skills and PVG Scheme membership.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
