We are looking for a dispenser or dispensing assistant with an
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent UK qualification (Scotland, Norther Ireland, or recognised in-house Pharmacy Training from Boots, Well, Lloyds etc)
.
The role requires at least
32 hours per week
Mondays to Friday with occasional Saturday cover when needed. The pay offer will depend on experience.
The role requires an experienced dispenser who's attention to detail and dispensing efficiency has been proven. We require someone who likes technology and is savvy with different PMR systems. You must also be adept at dealing with different staffing dynamics, and patient demographics.
As with most community pharmacy role, prolonged movement and standing during your shift is expected with light to medium lifting, reaching out and picking things from bottom shelves, and constant use of display equipment. Attention to detail is also essential and a caring communication style for patients, customers, and colleagues.
Base Branch & Regular Shift
You will be based in our Chesterfield Drive branch in Ipswich unless assigned by the Area Manager to cover branches in and around Ipswich (Suffolk territory). Occasionally you may be asked to support branches up to 50 miles from Ipswich as per needs of the business but this will be agreed with you at that time.
Mileage will be paid if you are covering branches over 10 miles from your base branch, and this will be paid at 45p per mile excluding the first 10 miles of your daily journey.
Monday to Friday: 9am to 6pm, with 1 hour unpaid break in between

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a UK pharmacy with the suitable UK qualification (minimum NVQ or in-house Boots/ Well/ Lloyds L2 equivalent). If you are a pharmacy technician or ACT, please expect mostly a dispensing role despite your qualification.

Responsibilities
Provide exceptional patient care by accurately dispensing medications efficiently and offering guidance on their proper use.
Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure the safe handling of medications according to the SOP, and the timely processing of prescriptions.
Support the pharmacists in higher services patient intake by actively identifying opportunistic service gaps through effective patient and customer engagement and prescription items.
Maintain inventory levels and assist in the management of pharmaceutical supplies.
Educate patients on medication adherence and potential side effects.
Uphold compliance with health regulations and pharmacy standards.
Assist in the training of new pharmacy staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
About Our Branches & Operational Priority
Our branches in Ipswich area vary but we have close relationship with GPs with your base branch situated in a busy surgery. Most of our branches employ full time colleagues with regular pharmacist because we believe in service continuity to allow the pharmacist to prioritise providing frontline NHS care to community patients. Some of our branches dispense using monitored dose systems (trays) but we are limiting this. We supply to care homes in some branches mostly in original packs and provide e-MAR.
