Our client, a leading agricultural company, is currently seeking a Relief Broiler Farm Manager to join their dynamic team in Derbyshire. This exciting opportunity has arisen due to the company\'s continued growth and expansion. As a Relief Broiler Farm Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing broiler farm operations during periods of absence or as needed. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, implementing efficient production processes, and ensuring optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of broiler farm management in the absence of the regular farm manager.
  • Monitor and maintain strict biosecurity protocols to ensure the health and well-being of the birds.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including feed and water management, ventilation, and temperature control.
  • Implement effective disease prevention and treatment strategies.
  • Supervise and train farm staff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to achieve production targets and meet customer requirements.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
THE CANDIDATE:

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual who shares a passion for animal welfare and has a solid background in broiler farm management. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Relevant education or experience in poultry farming, with a focus on broiler management.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing broiler farms.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of biosecurity measures and best practices in animal husbandry.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Flexibility to work on a relief basis and adapt to varying schedules.
This role may also be suitable for a strong candidate with previous poultry experience looking to develop into a management role.
