Sessional (Relief) Practice Educators (Workforce Development)
Grade G10 (20.98 - 22.65 per hour)
We are currently aspiring to recruit to our relief pool of Qualified Social Work Practice Educators. This is an exciting opportunity for Practice Educators who are passionate about supporting and developing the skills, knowledge and experiences of Social Work Students and aspiring Practice Educators undertaking their Award.
In this role you will have the opportunity to utilise your knowledge and experience to support the mentoring and assessing of Students who are undertaking their Practice Learning Opportunities (PLO) hosted by Wrexham County Borough Council in the Social Care service and Third Sector organisations.
The hours of this role offer a degree of flexibility and can be undertaken in addition to your substantive post (if applicable). As a Sessional Practice Educator you will operate in a 'long arm' capacity providing support to Learners inclusive of supervision; direct observations of practice; linking with onsite mentors and University Tutors. You will also be responsible for assessing the Learners written portfolio and providing a Practice Educator Report at the completion of the PLO. As part of this role you may also be offered opportunities to undertake Reader Assessments of Learner portfolios to support the Practice Assessment Panel (PAP).
In order to apply for this post you will need to be an experienced Practice Educator having previously supported a minimum of two students. You must also be a registered (or willing to register) Social Worker with Social Care Wales.
An understanding and experience of managing complex situations and partnership working is needed. Knowledge of National Occupational Standards is required as well as a commitment to Codes of Practice.
This work is funded by the Social Care Wales Workforce Development Programme (SCWWDP Grant) which supports training and qualifications for the Social Care Sector in Wrexham. This service is delivered by the Workforce Development Team, which is part of the Human Resources and Organisation Design (HR&OD) function in the Chief Executive's service.
