Job Description

As a Relief Retail Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers, staff, and visitors across a range of retail locations. You will be responsible for deterring theft, monitoring CCTV cameras, conducting regular patrols, and responding swiftly to any incidents on site. Your presence will be a reassuring point of contact for the public and store employees, ensuring that all security procedures are strictly followed. This role requires flexibility, as you will be covering shifts at various store locations depending on operational needs, sometimes with short notice.
Your main duties will include preventing and detecting theft, managing access control, reporting suspicious activity, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will be expected to provide excellent customer service, assist with emergency situations, and liaise effectively with store management and law enforcement when required. The ability to handle incidents calmly, remain vigilant, and act professionally at all times is essential. Previous experience in a security role is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. A valid SIA licence is required, along with a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends, is essential to succeed in this dynamic and rewarding position.
