We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Relief Retail Security Officer to join our team, providing essential security coverage across multiple retail sites. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for deterring theft, monitoring suspicious activity, and ensuring the safety and security of staff, customers, and premises. Your primary duties will include conducting regular patrols, observing CCTV footage, responding to security incidents, and professionally handling any challenging situations that may arise within the retail environment. As a relief officer, flexibility is key; you will cover shifts at various locations, sometimes at short notice, to support permanent site officers and meet operational needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a calm and approachable demeanor, and the ability to remain alert and focused during long periods of observation. Previous experience in security or a similar customer-facing role is highly desirable, and an SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence is essential. You must be able to complete clear and concise incident reports, carry out routine inspections, and work closely with store management and law enforcement when required. Punctuality, reliability, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are crucial. This role requires availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as dictated by the needs of the business.
