Job Description

As a Relief Retail Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of retail environments across multiple locations. You will be responsible for deterring theft, protecting staff and customers, and ensuring that all security procedures are followed at all times. Your duties include conducting regular patrols of the premises, monitoring CCTV footage, responding swiftly to alarms or incidents, and providing a visible security presence to deter criminal activity. You will also be expected to liaise professionally with store management, law enforcement, and emergency services when required, while completing detailed incident reports and maintaining accurate security documentation.
This role requires flexibility, as you will cover shifts at various retail sites, sometimes at short notice. You must be able to adapt quickly to new environments and possess excellent communication and observation skills. The ideal candidate will have a valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor licence, prior experience in a retail or security role, and a strong sense of reliability and professionalism. A calm and approachable manner is essential, especially when dealing with members of the public or diffusing potential conflicts. You must be physically fit, able to stand or patrol for extended periods, and available to work a mixture of days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
