Job Description

As a Relief Retail Security Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' premises, staff, and customers. You will be responsible for patrolling assigned retail sites, preventing theft and antisocial behaviour, monitoring CCTV, and responding promptly to incidents as they arise. Your duties will include conducting regular security checks, assisting with loss prevention, providing a visible deterrent against crime, and liaising with store management and law enforcement when necessary. Flexibility is key, as you will cover shifts at various locations depending on operational requirements, which may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
The ideal candidate will have a valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor licence, excellent communication and observational skills, and a professional approach to customer service. Previous experience in a security role, particularly within a retail environment, is highly desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. You must be able to remain calm under pressure, handle difficult situations with tact and discretion, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A high standard of personal presentation and reliability is essential, as is the ability to adapt to changing environments and schedules. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and willing to undergo a full background check as part of the recruitment process.
