Relief Screening Officer

This position is key to ensuring a secure environment by observing and reporting activities, managing incidents, and conducting screening procedures using wands and metal detectors. As a
Relief Screening Officer
, you'll be responsible for applying Screening Standard Operating Procedures, monitoring access points, and performing security checks to prevent breaches. Your duties will include conducting hand-held and walk-through metal detection searches, ensuring compliance with safety practices, and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions. Responsibilities
You'll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:
Require datacentre personnel to utilise metal detection and/or wand for secure area access
Monitor traffic flow through screening checkpoints
Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel
Perform hand-held wand searches and walk-through metal detection searches
Follow safe work practices and be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety. Notify superiors of any unsafe working conditions
Carry out all functions, duties, or tasks in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, following applicable company policies and procedures. Seek clarification from superiors or authorised company representatives when uncertain
Demonstrate understanding and engagement with the Securitas Core Values of Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness, whilst showing a natural ability to recognise risk within the workplace and consider safety as a priority, complying with relevant policies, procedures and training as provided by the Company

Qualifications
What we're looking for:
We're looking for someone who sees a different world--someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you'll have:
Proven experience in datacentre operations or equivalent security industry experience; or equivalent experience in forces/services
Previous supervisory experience is ideal
Great customer service skills
The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history
Reliable and great team player
Flexible & contactable out of hours
Willingness to learn and work to structured procedures
Strong communication skills in English--both written and spoken
