Job Description

The Throckmorton, Coughton near Alcester is a thriving independent Freehouse serving fresh, homemade quality food every day of the year. The kitchen is a fast paced, but fresh food environment.

Head chef Iona, and sous chef Sarah require

temporary cover

from a strong, experienced chef working at

Senior CDP

level to cover team holidays, maternity cover and the busy festive season.

Working hours/contract dates:

Ideally from Mid October to the end of December (negotiable) Full time hours available, shorter working weeks considered but will include evenings and weekends. Shifts are varying but our kitchen is open 7am to close (approx 10.30pm) every day of the week. Possible dates in 2026

Pay rate options:

PAYE Employed:

16 per hour, plus 1.92 holiday pay, plus tronc (operated by seperate tronc scheme, generally dlivers 2-2.50 per hour)

= total 20 per hour approx

Applicant requirements:

Able to deliver strong performance in a CDP role in all areas of fresh food preparation (including basic pastry), and service of all sections in the kitchen in a fst paced environment (the kitchen and team is small, therefore multitasking is a must) Previous experience of working at Sous Chef or above level in temporary assignments, or Head Chef in permanent assignments in similar operations. Good communication skills with kitchen and FOH team. Able to work alone or as part of a team. Ideally hold valid current intermendiate food hygeine & first aid ccertificates
