We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join secondary schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas of East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is committed to inspiring students through engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons.
This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are looking for long-term, permanent, or flexible teaching opportunities.
The Role:
Teaching Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5 in some schools)
Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and well-structured lessons in line with the national curriculum
Promoting students' understanding of world religions, ethics, and moral issues
Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress
Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential
Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Working collaboratively with the wider Humanities department and school staff
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
A recognised degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related subject
Strong subject knowledge of the secondary RE curriculum
Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
A professional, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
