Duties

Operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in compliance with road safety regulations and company policies Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals at multiple destinations Load, secure, and unload goods safely, utilising appropriate equipment and techniques Conduct routine vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and report any faults promptly Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate schedules and address any delivery issues Adhere to all health and safety regulations during driving operations and loading/unloading procedures Assist with warehouse tasks as required, including inventory management and stock organisation

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver, with a strong understanding of road safety laws Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting Experience operating flatbed vehicles or similar large transport equipment is advantageous Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients Ability to navigate using GPS systems or traditional maps efficiently Warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding loading procedures and inventory handling Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record Strong organisational skills to manage schedules and documentation effectively
