We are seeking an experienced and reliable removals porter & driver to join our close knit team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials efficiently while ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer service. This role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively and manage time efficiently, as well as the capability to handle heavy lifting.

Duties

Operate a 3.5 tonne removals van to deliver goods to various locations in a timely manner. Load and unload our clients belongings, ensuring safe handling and adherence to weight limits. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure roadworthiness. Communicate with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or damages. Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road. Assist in warehouse duties when not driving, including inventory management and organisation of stock.

Experience

Previous experience in the furniture removals industry as a driver or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands associated with loading and unloading goods. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and customers. A valid, clean driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated is required; additional qualifications in commercial driving are advantageous. The candidate must be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.00-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 60 per week
