Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in masonry and related trades to contribute to a variety of building projects, from residential to commercial developments.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers or bonding agents. Mix plaster and other materials to the correct consistency using hand tools or power mixers. Apply plaster smoothly and evenly to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using trowels, hawks, and floats. Utilise bricklaying, masonry, carpentry, roofing, welding, and power tools as required for specialised tasks. Repair damaged surfaces and patch holes or cracks prior to plastering. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining safety standards. Maintain a clean work environment by clearing debris and properly storing tools and materials.

Requirements

Proven experience in plastering, masonry, or related trades such as bricklaying or carpentry. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment including welding and roofing tools. Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations relevant to construction sites. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods. Relevant skills in welding, roofing, masonry, or carpentry are considered advantageous but not essential. A valid qualification or certification in construction trades is preferred but not mandatory.
