Rent and Service Charge Accountant
, you'll lead the process for calculating, reconciling, and communicating rent and service charge accounts, ensuring compliance and transparency at every stage.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and reconciling rent and service charge accounts
Ensuring compliance with housing regulations and internal policies
Leading consultations with residents and responding to queries
Supporting the year-end service charge process and external audits
Working with property and operational teams to validate data and improve processes
Providing clear reporting and insight on trends, risks, and opportunities
PERSON
You'll be a technically strong accountant with experience in rent and service charge accounting (or similar housing/charity sector experience). Strong stakeholder management and communication skills will be essential.
You will bring:
Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent - part qualified considered)
Proven experience in rent and service charge accounting, housing, or property finance
Strong Excel and reporting skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholders
A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
