About the role:



We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Report Writer to join our Management Information Systems (MIS) team at Askham Bryan College. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-focused professional to make a tangible impact by transforming information into actionable insights.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality Business Intelligence (BI) reports and dashboards that support decision-making across the college. You'll work closely with academic and professional teams to understand their information needs and translate them into effective, data-driven reporting solutions. A key part of the role will include developing a Power BI dashboard for the Higher Education (HE) team, including OfS data analysis and key performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities:



Design, develop, and deploy accurate BI reports to improve data quality, efficiency, and flexibility. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to define and meet information and reporting needs. Translate business requirements into technical solutions, delivering clear and meaningful visualisations. Maintain and enhance existing reporting tools and documentation. Develop and support Power BI dashboards for HE reporting and performance monitoring. Identify and implement opportunities for process automation and improved data flow within MIS.

About You:



You will have experience working in an educational or data-focused environment, with strong technical skills in reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI, SSRS, or MS Access. Experience using Advanced Pro Suite systems is advantageous. You'll bring a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work effectively to deadlines.

You'll be self-motivated, collaborative, and confident in communicating complex data insights in a clear and meaningful way.

Start Date: The College operates 2 starter/induction days per month to welcome and onboard new members. These are usually the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month (unless there is a bank holiday).
