SP Energy Networks (SPEN) will be delivering over 10 bn of investment in the GB electricity grid over the next 5 years. A major part of this is delivery of the EGL1 HVDC link in Joint Venture with National Grid.
The EGL1 Reporting & Information Manager will be part of the PMO team within EGL1, formed of SPT, NGET and external staff reporting to the PMO Lead. The Reporting & Information Manager will be required to engage with Delivery, Engineering, SHES, Finance and Commercial workstreams, along with interfacing into directorates within SPEN and NGET to ascertain and meet the overall reporting requirements.What you'll be doingLead Performance & Reporting Management (PRM) activities at project level, ensuring reporting meets the project requirements across all project lifecycle phases. Accountable for reporting, analysing, and interpreting performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the project to feed back to both TO's. Owns the PRM process and the monthly project reporting cadence, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reports. Accountable for the continuous maintenance and development of the EGL1 integrated data model and CDE that feeds into reporting dashboards. Prepares and delivers project-wide reports to stakeholders within SPT & National Grid. Plans and prioritises reporting activities, ensuring monthly reporting deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy, and motivates team members to adapt to changing priorities. Implements standardised KPIs and metrics in reporting templates and digital dashboards, driving consistency in updates and communications across the project. Owns the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of EGL1 Project PowerBi dashboards, enhancing data visibility and usability. Contributes to regulatory reporting requirements, including providing inputs to the annual Ofgem reporting process and supporting other regulatory submissions as required. Introduces innovative and efficient reporting practices, creating a culture of data analysis and visualisation over manual report creation. Defines KPIs and reporting requirements for Contractors, ensuring alignment with EGL1 standards.
What you'll bringSignificant experience (5+ years) in large-scale, complex infrastructure or energy EPC projects, with UK transmission/distribution upgrade project experience advantageous but not essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored for senior stakeholders and the executive. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and drive decision-making at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate conflicting requirements and provide actionable solutions. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, particularly in the context of project controls, reporting requirements and governance. Expertise in reporting and data analysis, with proficiency across a variety of applications and platforms (e.g. PowerBi, MS Office). Ability to review and scrutinise integrated data models to feed into SPT & National Grid reporting dashboards. Resilient and tenacious, with the determination to achieve outcomes and overcome challenges in high-pressure environments.
As a minimum, you will demonstrate:Experience in project/contract management within FIDIC EPC type contracts ideally with a background in capital projects. Formal qualification in project management (e.g., AMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) or significant, demonstrable experience in project management disciplines. Advanced proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI, with a strong understanding of integrating complex data models from various digital tools (e.g., P6 Primavera, BIM ACC, FastDraft etc) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present and negotiate with clarity and confidence. Demonstrated experience in decision-making and problem-solving, with the ability to analyse complex scenarios and propose actionable solutions.
