The Faculty of Arts, Computing & Engineering at Wrexham University is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to assist the Principal Investigator in the coordination and administration of this exciting research project.
The Ecological Citizen(s) Network+ is a four-year research network based at the Royal College of Art in collaboration with Wrexham University and the Stockholm Environment Institute at University of York. Our mission is to catalyse, amplify and enable Ecological Citizenship in a sustainable digital society for positive climate action.
Through our work, we want to explore (and develop) ways real people can turn ideas into real action, to foster ecological awareness and sustainable practices within their communities and environments. This is why we are building the Ecological Citizen(s) Network+, which aims to bring together people with a diverse range of knowledge - from different disciplines, backgrounds and geographies - to explore how we might work collectively towards a preferable future for all.
The Ecological Citizen(s) transdisciplinary team sits across multiple disciplines, including design, arts practice, citizen science, environmental science, engineering, technology, education and social innovation.
The role includes supporting the PI by providing regular updates on the EC's activities for reporting to committees and acting as secretary and minute taker at the bi-monthly EC meetings when requested.
The Research Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for all queries to the EC, with responsibility for administering the EC inbox. They will provide comprehensive administrative support to the PI and the team across processes relating to preparing, submitting and managing research, budgets and projects.
A key aspect of the role involves implementing, managing and improving administrative processes related to the EC, including creating templates and guidance notes to enhance workflow efficiency. You will assist the EC team with preparing project documentation such as reports and presentations arranging meetings and acting as the key point of contact between the EC team, Research Office, support staff, research students, and the EC Network. You will be educated to at least HND/BA/BSc level preferably within an administrative, IT, business qualification.
