Research Assistant in Advanced Air Mobility Systems

Fixed Term Contract until 31 May 2026

Full time starting salary is normally in the range of \xc2\xa326,860 to \xc2\xa329,743 per annum

Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire

We welcome applications from prospective Research Assistant to work on research in our exciting SAFIR-Ready project and to teach in our new MSc Course in Advanced Air Mobility Systems (AAMS).

About the Role

You will be expected to perform high-quality research work for the SAFIR-Ready project that will be centred around developing distributed and collaborative decision-making models for integrated air/unmanned traffic management (ATM/UTM). You are also encouraged to assist in teaching activities, which could eventually lead to a Postgraduate Certificate Academic Practice (PGCAP) certificate.

You will be also expected to authorise and submit academic articles to high-quality journals for publication and dissemination, as well as contributions to research funding application activities.

About You

You will be educated to Master level in a relevant subject and have research experience in air traffic management, unmanned traffic management, and/or operational research, with a good track record in peer-reviewed publications. You will have teaching assistant experience at undergraduate or graduate level. Knowledge of software development will be an advantage.
