The UCL Research Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (EPH) is a world leading and multi-disciplinary research department that conducts timely, rigorous and independent research with sound statistical methods into a better understanding of health and the prevention of ill health. Our research focuses on a wide range of public health concerns such as heart disease; dental public health; mental health and well-being; and child development and ageing. Our research has significant real-world impact, informing policy and practice both in the United Kingdom and around the world. One of our major contributions is to the wider understanding of inequalities in health by government, practitioners and the general public. Our research regarding the social influences on health over the life span feeds into the department's undergraduate and graduate teaching. This post is based within the Central Eastern European Health Research Group which is led by Professor Martin Bobak. The Group focuses on the determinants of health and the inter-societal effects of social factors on health in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia.
About the role

The post-holder will participate in previously initiated work on an EU Horizon 2020 funded CETOCOEN EXCELLENCE Project focusing on environmental health in Central and Eastern Europe. The post holder will contribute to maintaining and analysing the existing HAPIEE cohort dataset, lead specific analyses and manuscript preparations. About you

The candidate will have MSc in Epidemiology, Medical Statistics or a related discipline and knowledge and experience in analysis of epidemiological data using appropriate statistical methods. The candidate should have knowledge about the determinants of health and about risk factors for major chronic diseases. This is a full on-site role and the candidate is expected to be at UCL 5 days per week.
