This exciting post contributes directly to a national multi-centre research platform, TBI-REPORTER (https://tbi-reporter.uk/). The aim of this MRC National research platform is to catalyse TBI research through the data access, biomarker development and experimental medicine activities.
You will work closely with Dr Mazdak Ghajari (Design Engineering) and Prof David Sharp (Medicine and TBI REPORTER biomarker lead) to develop biomechanical research relevant to the understanding and treatment of TBI. The work will include developing new approaches to the analysis of biomechanical data, using a range of databases that include TBI biomechanical data.
What you would be doing
---------------------------
You will work across the Departments of Design Engineering and Brain Sciences at Imperial and in partnership with TBI REPORTER scientists. They will integrate with the teams of Dr Mazdak Ghajari and Prof David Sharp to develop biomechanical modelling approaches for TBI research. This will include working to identify and access new data sources of relevant biomechanical data, developing methods for harmonising and standardising the data, and producing new standards for data sharing across the TBI biomechanics field. You will assist on the development of new biomechanical biomarkers of value for predicting the effect of TBI on the brain and help to disseminate these through the research community using TBI REPORTER.
What we are looking for
