About the Role

The School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science is looking to recruit a Research Assistant or Postdoctoral Research Assistant, to support a project funded by the EPSRC, led by Dr James Kelly. The candidate will also be part of the Antenna and Electromagnetics Group. The role relates to microwave hardware that can be reconfigured using Gallium-based liquid metal.

About You

Applicants should have an Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science/Electronic Engineering. Applicants at PDRA level must have a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Physics or Mathematics (preferably Microwave Engineering). Candidates must have a strong grasp of the background theory relating to microwave circuits and antennas or willingness to learn this. Experience of working with new electronic materials, fabricating hardware prototypes, and validating the performance of those prototypes through experimental measurement would be desirable.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full-time (35 hours/week), fixed-term appointment for 12 months, with an expected start date of October 2023. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of \xc2\xa336,572 - \xc2\xa337,182 per annum pro rata for an RA and \xc2\xa340,223 - \xc2\xa344,722 per annum pro rata for a PDRA, inclusive of London Allowance.
