Job Description

The MRC Biostatistics Unit is one of Europe's leading biostatistics research institutions. Our focus is to deliver new analytical and computational strategies based on sound statistical principles for the challenging tasks facing biomedicine and public health.
This position is to work with Dr Pavel Mozgunov within the within the Efficient Study Design (ESD) research theme of the MRC Biostatistics Unit (BSU).
The post-holder will contribute to the research programme on (i) developing efficient adaptive clinical trial designs for early phase dose-finding clinical trials, (ii) developing framework for the comprehensive evaluation of trial designs based on simulations. The post-holder will also have an opportunity to contribute to the support of planning of innovative clinical trials.
Key responsibilities:
The job will primarily involve the development of statistical methodology for early phase dose-finding clinical trials.
Specific duties will include:

  • To develop novel statistical methods for the design of adaptive dose-finding clinical trials. o To derive analytical results for the developed methodology and frameworks for the its comprehensive evaluation o Developing R-packages and R Shiny Apps for dose-finding designs; o To present scientific work at conferences and internal and external seminars. o To write scientific papers and contribute to the overall preparation of research for publication.
The starting date for the post is the 1st of March 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
