About the position

We're looking for a Research Associate to support our preclinical research program, helping evaluate novel RNA therapeutic solutions for musculoskeletal disease.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package that is funded for 24 months in the first instance. Candidates may on occasion be asked to work outside of normal working hours.

Primary responsibilities

Maintaining mammalian cell lines and using them to screen novel therapeutics. Manufacturing and testing novel non-viral delivery vehicles. Performing mammalian tissue dissections. Extracting nucleic acids and proteins from cells and tissue. Ensuring timely submission of test samples to relevant core facilities within the institute (e.g. genomics). Preparing next-generation sequencing libraries for deep sequencing. Performing molecular techniques including PCR, RT-qPCR, ELISA and cloning. Analysing genome editing outcomes and functional readouts. Providing cross-disciplinary support for our drug development pipeline.
Essential Experience, Knowledge and Skills

Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry or a similar discipline. At least two years of full-time wet-lab experience with aseptic cell culture techniques including maintaining mammalian cell lines. Experience with PCR Experience with gDNA, RNA and protein extraction Ability to work independently and as part of a hard-working, motivated, and enthusiastic team. Proactive and flexible, with proven ability to perform on tight timelines. Effective in oral and written communication with excellent organisational and record keeping skills.

Pay: 35,000.00-40,000.00 per year
