A Research Associate is responsible for the recombinant antibody process for Monoclonal Antibody production and cell line products. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone to have an immediate and positive impact within the team and ultimately support researchers and scientists across the world to discover more faster!


This position reports to the Production Manager and is part of the newly founded Cells & Antibody Manufacturing Team within the Cambridge Operations Team and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:



Support all aspects of recombinant antibody process for monoclonal antibody manufacture, to include plasmid preparation, transfection and affinity purification Assist in resuscitation, subculture and cryopreservation of cell lines for production of Abcam products. Maintain accurate records of experimental data using Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), laboratory notebooks, and Oracle ERP, ensuring adherence to SOPs and ISO9001:2015 standards. Support continuous improvement activities to improve manufacturing processes.

The essential requirements of the job include:



Hands-on experience of mammalian cell culture and /or affinity purification Understanding the fundamental science behind recombinant antibody manufacture processes. Hold a BSc. in a Life Sciences. Excellent attention to detail, with a passion for working in the lab environment. Demonstrates a flexible mindset and ability to adapt to shifting priorities and customer demands.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:



Use of an ERP system. Experience of operating an AKTA system.
