This is an exciting opportunity for your first step into industry and to contribute to Abcam\xe2\x80\x99s Antibody Product Portfolio expansion. This role will be part of the Characterisation Team which is part of the Validation and Technical Quality Group, holding a key function in the validation and characterization of new antibodies and lots of existing products ensuring functionality for our customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine automated Immunohistochemistry assays
  • Performing microtomy/cryotomy
  • Producing tissue microarrays
  • Performing digitisation and QC of IHC slides (Leica Aperio AT2 and Hamamatsu Nanozoomer slide scanners)
  • Accurately recording experimental details in Lab notebooks or the Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR) system.
  • Abide by Laboratory SOPs and work within Abcam H & S, Ethical and Quality standards
Qualifications

You will have a degree in biology or a related subject and a passion for science. You will have good knowledge and understanding of technical principles, literature and methods in the field of immunohistochemistry with any hands-on experience in immunohistochemistry, automated IHC platforms (e.g Leica BOND, Roche Ventana), tissue embedding, tissue microtomy and cryotomy being a plus but the desire to learn is the key.
