We're seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in nutritional or cancer epidemiology and/or evidence synthesis methods to join the CUP Global team at Imperial College. You will lead systematic evaluations of research evidence on the role of diet, nutrition, anthropometric characteristics, physical activity, and sedentary behaviour on cancer risk.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact international research programme that shapes global recommendations on cancer prevention and survivorship.
What you would be doing
---------------------------
Our team is at the forefront of the Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global), an established international research programme of the World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRF). The team at Imperial is generously supported by a long-term commitment of the WCRF since 2007.
WCRF's CUP Global evaluates evidence on the role of diet and lifestyle factors on cancer prevention and prognosis. The critical appraisals of the evidence produced by our group are reviewed by an independent International Expert Panel coordinated by WCRF, to develop recommendations for the public and cancer survivors. The programme has yielded numerous publications in leading scientific journals, and its recommendations are used by the public, patient groups, regulatory agencies and policy makers internationally.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, nutritionists, a data scientist, a software engineer/database manager and a project manager. You will be involved in all steps of the methodology for conducting systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses and umbrella reviews of published data from epidemiological studies.
You will report to the Principal Investigators of CUP Global at Imperial, Dr Doris Chan and Dr Kostas Tsilidis. You will work closely with the other team members to conduct the research, prepare scientific reports and publications, and applications to secure external research funding. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other researchers within Imperial, at WCRF and with international experts and researchers involved in CUP Global.
