We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to join our world leading drinking water distribution research group, within the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering. We are looking for someone with a passion for research into drinking water quality, who has and wants to apply their skills to develop the next generation of modelling tools to help protect and maintain the supply of safe drinking water. The role will focus on developing water distribution network modelling approaches to describe and quantify the microbial risks associated with the interaction of disinfection residuals and biofilms.

You will work in a well-connected team with a world-leading reputation. The university hosts the UK\'s largest urban water research grouping, bringing together people with different expertise to advance engineering and scientific knowledge across all aspects of water engineering. You will use your research skills to become an essential member of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR) funded \xe2\x80\x98To Chlorinate, or Not To Chlorinate\xe2\x80\x99 (www.tochlorinate.ac.uk) project team, working with other researchers within the University of Sheffield, other universities and industry partners.
