About the role

Applications are invited for a Research Associate in RF Design for Analog Computing-aided MIMO Architecture position in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London.
The Research Associate will conduct original research in RF design, modeling, and prototyping of analog computer based on reconfigurable microwave networks to enable new MIMO architectures, as part of UK Telecom Hubs.
The Research Associate will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals and to attract external research funding.
Other aspects of the post include undertaking project management, collaborating with PhD students and Research Associates, as well as academic and industry partners, and/or supervising multi-disciplinary teams.
What you would be doing

Key responsibilities include:
To take initiatives in the planning of research
To direct the work of small research teams
To closely follow and contribute to the progress of the project and cooperate with other researchers
To ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times
To maintain accurate and complete records of all findings
To write reports for submission to research sponsors
To contribute to the timely production of project deliverables
To present findings to colleagues and at conferences
To submit publications to refereed journals
To write technical reports and patent applications
To disseminate research results and organize research events
What we are looking for

Education
Research Associate:
Hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in RF design, modelling, and prototyping of radio systems, intelligent surfaces, reconfigurable microwave circuit, and/or analog computer, and a significant publication track record
Research Assistant:
Hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in RF design, modelling, and prototyping of radio systems and a significant publication track record.
Experience
Experience within a research environment
Experience of writing scientific publications in top conferences or journals
Experience of writing concise and pertinent reports
Experience of making effective presentations
Experience of conducting independent research
Knowledge
Knowledge in several areas among:
Microwave theory
Antenna and propagation theory
RF/antenna design/measurement
RF system prototyping/experimentation
Reconfigurable RF and microwave devices
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces
Skills & Abilities
Ability to conduct a detailed review of recent literature
Ability to develop and apply new concepts
Creative approach to problem-solving
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of people
Excellent written communication skills and the ability to write clearly and succinctly for publication
