This is an open-ended with fixed funding position (with funding confirmed for 24 months) within the Bristol Cyber Security Group. The Group participates in several major initiatives, hosting REPHRAIN, the National Research Centre on Privacy, Harm Reduction and Adversarial Influence Online, leading the programme of work on developing a Cyber Security Body of Knowledge (CyBOK), leading an EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber Security (CDT in Cyber Security) and leading the EPSRC-funded programme on securing convergent ultra-large-scale infrastructures (SCULI). The University also hosts the NCSC Research Institute on Science of Cyber Security (RISCS). There is a strong expectation that you will actively contribute to the strong profile of Cyber Security at Bristol and its interdisciplinary ethos.
What will you be doing?

We are looking for a candidate to join a major programme of research focusing on cyber security of large-scale infrastructures that underpin everyday lives in society, e.g., critical infrastructures such as water treatment and distribution, power grids, smart building environments and high-value manufacturing. You will develop innovative research that puts you at the forefront of work on understanding vulnerabilities of such infrastructures, attack pathways and novel solutions to detect such attacks and mitigate them.
The post holder will play a key role in the on-going development of a state-of-the-art comprehensive testbed infrastructure for security of industrial control systems. The testbed includes a set of devices used in the control and instrumentation of industrial control systems as well as physical processes on water treatment, manufacturing, building management as well as Industrial IoT platforms and devices.
