We are looking for a Research Associate or Scientist who is passionate and innovative to join our In Vitro Pharmacology Team, based in Slough UK.
About the role
You will support drug discovery efforts by generating and analyzing in vitro data to advance both pre-candidate and post-candidate therapeutic molecules.
Who you'll report to
Reporting to the Principal Scientist.
What you'll do

  • Collaborate with project teams to design, optimize, and execute in vitro assays that accurately reflect target biology.
  • Apply a broad range of scientific techniques to develop assays for screening, functional characterization, mechanism-of-action studies, and target validation.
  • Analyse and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to continuous assay improvement.
  • Perform routine laboratory duties, including maintenance and operational support for flow cytometry platforms.
  • Present experimental findings at internal meetings, contributing to scientific discussions and project decision-making.
  • Adhere to Human Tissue Authority (HTA) regulations by keeping training current and following all relevant policies and procedures.
Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience and skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Immunology or a related biological science, with 1-3 years of relevant industry experience. (A Master's or PhD is advantageous but not essential).
  • Hands-on experience with a range of immunological assays, such as ELISA, ELISpot, and flow cytometry.
  • Proficient in culturing cell lines and handling primary human cells.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present scientific data.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize assays in a laboratory setting.
  • Prior experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) is a plus.
  • Experience with flow cytometry or cell sorting is beneficial but not essential.
