We have an opening for a position as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Bioengineering.
What you would be doing
---------------------------
You will work at the interface of academic research and early-stage commercial translation, embedding advanced analytical methods from the Statistical Physics of Cognition project into applied human neuroimaging workflows. You will focus on analysing longitudinal multimodal data from the LUCID study (TD-fNIRS, cognition, and wearables), with the aim of developing robust, interpretable, and scalable biomarkers of cognitive brain health.
A core purpose of the post is to operate in close translational collaboration with Connectome Health, a neurotechnology startup and commercial partner to the IAA project. This collaboration will ensure that analytical advances are not only scientifically rigorous but also aligned with downstream deployment in digital health tools, partner-facing demonstrators, and licensable software pipelines.
This role offers a rare opportunity to work across academia and industry within a UKRI-funded translational framework, gaining experience in both high-level computational neuroscience research and real-world impact delivery. As well as carrying out computational and data analysis research as described above, you will assist with writing up this research for publication.
What we are looking for
---------------------------
To be successful, you will have a PhD in computational neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, physics, applied mathematics or a related discipline. You will have research experience, ideally in a neuroscience setting.
