Starting Salary is \xc2\xa338,467 per annum (including London Allowance) *

*This is the expected starting salary for this post however appointment at a higher point may be made for candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills and experience relevant to the role.

Applications are invited for the post of Research Development Manager in the Research and Innovation Department at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Royal Holloway is a research-intensive university with internationally leading researchers and research groups. The 2021 REF (Research Excellence Framework) confirmed Royal Holloway as being in the upper quartile of universities in the UK for research, with 88% of Royal Holloway\'s research rated as either \'world-leading\' or \'internationally excellent\'.

We are looking for an exceptional research development manager to work alongside senior academic staff and research leaders to oversee the management and development of high-quality research grant proposals and ensure expert pre-award support and guidance for complex projects. This will require the provision of professional support in the stimulation of research activity, and the development and maintenance of strategic relationships with key funding bodies and partner organisations. The post holder will have experience of research funding and management and understanding of the funding landscape. They will also have experience of the preparation and submission of research grants. The post holder will play a key role in supporting the University\'s vision to grow its research and impact and to deliver its research strategy.

You will have a minimum of a first degree qualification, experience of working in research funding and management, excellent organisational abilities, and the interpersonal and communications skills needed to work effectively with the University\'s academic staff, external partners, and grant funders.

This is a full time, permanent post, available from mid-September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
