This BBSRC-NSF funded project will investigate the endosymbiotic relationship between Wolbachia and Anopheles mosquitoes and determine the factors that facilitate establishment through transinfection.
The successful candidate will play an important role in determining the interplay between Wolbachiaand its newly established symbiotic Anopheles host and the wider microbiome using sequencing-based analysis
You will join the Walker group in the School of Life Sciences at Warwick University.

About You
We are looking for someone with expertise in molecular medical entomology but we also welcome applications from people with skills in microbiome analysis.
Applicants should be proficient in illumina sequencing, oxford nanopore technology sequencing, 16S microbiome analysis including SituSeq pipeline and DADA2.

If you are near submission of your PhD, or have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made at
Research Assistant
level, at the highest spinal point of pay grade 5 (34,610 per annum).
Upon receipt of evidence confirming the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to
Research Fellow
, at the lowest spinal point of grade 6 (35,608 per annum).
