About the role
------------------
We are looking for a Research Fellow who will work under the supervision of the PI Dr Charlotte Faircloth (TCRU) as well as Co-Is Professor Ann Oakley (SSRU) and Meg Wiggins (SSRU) on the project '50 Years of Becoming a Mother' (BAM50). You will join a vibrant team of post-docs, research assistants, PhD students and student interns.
The successful candidate will lead on a new and ambitious round of data collection. You will have experience of team and multidisciplinary-working and excellent research skills, covering all aspects of the research process including: navigating ethical approval; knowledge of research methodology as well as methods; (intersectional) sampling; data management; analytical techniques and knowledge exchange. In addition, you will have excellent substantive knowledge of research into maternity and parenting culture over the last 50 years, specifically in the UK context would also be required.
This post is on a part-time basis (.70 FTE/ 22.55 hours per week) and is available for 36 months in the first instance.

About you

The successful candidate will have a PhD in sociology or social science or a related area of study. You will have evidence of scholarship which contributes to SRI research, including work of international profile with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications. You will have experience of social research into motherhood or family life, particularly in the UK context in the last 50 years. In addition, you will have experience of qualitative research, including sampling strategies as well as data collection and experience of data analysis, including but not limited to thematic analysis via NVivo.
